"Whats Up"
with Format 'n Print
1. Am working on allowing printer controls to be inserted into the
Formatted Text. This will allow you to distribute a document in any
width format you wish: 80,96,132 chars per line etc. These codes
if used, should be Epson Printer compatable. There will be a note
to users that they *should* distribute two copies, one with printer
codes, and one without.
Anyway...that is in the works.
2. Mouse support is becomming closer to being a reality. Though I still
don't think the rodent is really needed for this particular program.
But if things go well.....then it may just happen.
3. With the above ideas, and others that I have, and that users are
suggesting, the program is starting to get larger, and use more
memory when Shelling Out and running the editors/viewers. So.....
I plan on having FNP swap itself out of memory, leaving just a small
kernel, when it does these external chores. It will be able to swap
to EMS memory if available, else it will swap to disk.
This will be available in the next release, I hope! As will mouse
support, if I implement it.
4. Version 2.1 will be the last MINOR update. FNP is in for a major
rewrite. The Formatting options will be enhanced, page numbers can
be printed at top OR bottom, extra formatting may be allowed such as
left/right margin (lots of work!). The Format window will be enlarged
to allow these extra options.
5. Had intended to allow users to insert Name and Registration Number
in the program(s), but have decided to Hard Code them in.
This lessens the chances for modification. <heh heh>
Needles to say, the next release will be pretty much a *new*
Format 'n Print!!
Thats about it for the moment. Don't forget, I want YOUR suggestions
and Comments.
Thanks,
Rand Nowell
